Mr. Ellen Breaking 5 concrete pavers

Master Alan Ellen II

6th Degree Black Belt

Meet Master Ellen, our esteemed Vice President of Education at the Association. His martial arts journey began at the age of 11 after being captivated by “The Karate Kid” during a family vacation in August 1984. From childhood to adulthood, Master Ellen’s dedication to martial arts has been unwavering. He shares this passion with his daughter Skylar, imparting the wisdom gained from a lifetime of training and experiences.

Master Ellen’s unique perspective as a child and adult student, the son of a martial arts black belt, and now a father to a budding martial artist, enriches his role as a leader in the West Prosper academy. Beyond his martial arts prowess, he actively engages in Skylar’s school life as a member of the Dad’s Club and contributes to the Prosper ISD through School Character Talks and Martial Arts Demonstrations.

Having achieved First Degree Black Belt status with his father in 1987, Master Ellen’s competitive spirit led him to rank nationally in tournaments throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s. His journey continued with training under Master Dale Lee Craig in TaeKwonDo, Pressure Point Control Tactics, and Weeping Willow Jui Jitsu. Later, he opened an academy in Conway, AR, under Mr. Craig’s guidance.

Now based in McKinney with his wife Yvonne and daughter Skylar, Master Ellen embraces the teachings of Grand Master Hudson and his family. His gratitude extends to the mentors who shaped his journey, including:

    • Mr. Harry Brandon – El Dorado, AR
    • Mr. Bob, Ms. Patricia, and Mr. Bill Remow, – Benton, AR
    • Grand Masters Jason and Farren Wadley – Benton, AR
    • Master Dale Lee Craig – Benton, AR
    • Masters Bob and Wick Blankenship – Conway, AR
    • Grand Master Buddy Hudson – Prosper, TX

Master Ellen’s commitment to martial arts, combined with his diverse perspectives, makes him a valuable leader, teacher, and contributor to our martial arts community.
